Jane Furtner Award of Excellence in Recognition of Clinical Competency

In recognition of excellence for clinical competency in the field of addiction treatment the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Certification Board of Georgia will present an individual with the Jane Furtner Award for Excellence in Addiction Treatment and/or Recovery Support Services. The award will be presented at the 2022 10th Annual Alcohol and Drug Abuse Certification Board of Georgia Conference during the closing session on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel & Convention Center.

Nominations will be accepted for eligible individuals, who meet the criteria listed below. Completed nomination form(s) submitted must be received at the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Certification Board of Georgia, no later than close of business April 22, 2022.

Nomination Criteria:

  • The individual should be actively certified addiction professional through ADACB- GA and/or IC&RC.
  • The award will be based on the individual’s accomplishments during the past year and general accomplishments in working in addiction treatment over their professional career.
  • Winner will be notified by May 20, 2022 and required to attend to receive the award.
  • Winner will receive a scholarship registration to this year’s ADACBGA Conference
  • The person making this nomination will be asked to co-present the award at the conference on June 15, 2022.

ABACBGA Award for Excellence in Treatment Centers & Recovery Services

In recognition of clinical competency in addiction treatment and/or recovery support services, the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Certification Board of Georgia will present an organization with an Award of Clinical Excellence. The award will be presented at the 2022 10th Annual Alcohol and Drug Abuse Certification Board of Georgia Conference during the closing session on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel & Convention Center.

  • Organization should be active in the addiction treatment field and recovery services in the State of Georgia.
  • The award will be based on the organization’s accomplishments during the past year and general accomplishments in treatment over their organizational existence.
  • Winner will be notified by May 20, 2022, and required to attend to receive the award.
  • The person making this nomination will be asked to co-present the award at the conference on June 15, 2022.

Jack Furtner Memorial Scholarship

Jack Furtner, son of the ADACBGA Co-founder and long- time board president, Jane Furtner, lost his struggle with the disease of addiction in August, 2014. In Memory of Jack Furtner and for all those who have struggled or continue to struggle with the disease of addiction, the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Certification Board of Georgia will award an individual annually with a full scholarship package for our annual conference. The scholarship recipient will be recognized at the 2022 10th Annual Alcohol and Drug Abuse Certification Board of Georgia Conference during the closing session on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel & Convention Center.

Nominations will be accepted for eligible individuals, who meet the criteria listed below. Completed nomination form(s) submitted must be received at the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Certification Board of Georgia, no later than close of business April 22, 2022.

Nomination Criteria:

  • The individual should be in personal recovery for the disease of addiction.
  • The individual should be an actively certified addiction professional or seeking certification through ADACBGA and/or IC&RC.
  • The award will be based on the individual’s recovery story.
  • Winner will be notified by May 20, 2022 and required to attend to receive the award.
  • Winner will receive a scholarship registration to attend this year’s ADACBGA Conference.
  • The person nominating this scholarship will be asked to co-present at the closing session at the conference on June 15, 2022.
